Dr Daniel Tillett joins Race Board

17 September 2019 – Race Oncology Limited (ASX: RAC) is pleased to announce that prominent biotechnology investor and substantial Race shareholder, Dr Daniel Tillett, has today joined the Board of Directors of Race Oncology Ltd.

Dr Daniel Tillett is the founder and CEO of successful Sydney-based biotechnology company, Nucleics, which specialises in DNA sequencing and Genomics.

“We are delighted to have Daniel join the Board and are certain that he will make a great contribution to the Company as we move forward with Bisantrene,” said RAC Chairman, Dr Bill Garner. 

“I am very excited to be working with the Race team to help bring Bisantrene to the patients who need it and achieve a positive outcome for all shareholders,” said Dr Daniel Tillett.

Dr Tillett recently anchored a share placement in RAC and now owns 8.76 million shares, representing 8.7% of RAC’s issued shares.

Dr Daniel Tillett is the founder and CEO of Nucleics (nucleics.com), a private Australian biotechnology company producing and selling world leading DNA sequencing software to the Genomics industry. Nucleics SAAS (software as a service) tools are in use in more than 30 countries and over 250 companies and institutions. Dr Tillett has extensive commercial experience over the last 20 years in the biotech industry in project management, sales and marketing, IP management, fundraising and start-up investing. Previously, he was a Senior Lecturer within the School of Pharmacy at La Trobe University where he taught and researched in the areas of pharmacy, phage therapy, microbiology, bioinformatics and cancer. Dr Tillett has a PhD from the University of New South Wales in Molecular Genetics and Biochemistry. He has more than 40 scientific publications and granted patents in molecular biology, microbiology, genetics and biochemistry.
